In Norse myth, Níðhöggr has been gnawing at the roots of Yggdrasil since the beginning of time and will continue until Ragnarök finally frees him. His field-wide unavoidable damage makes Nidhoggix the Norse faction's most feared long-game card — in extended battles he whittles every opponent down to zero regardless of their DEF. This mirrors the Bakugan continuous ability drain and the Yu-Gi-Oh burn damage cards that bypass life point protection.
